The last week before Christmas I worked for another employer and this time in a warehouse where handbags are stored so I wondered if it wouldn't be like the perfect job for women?!
When the weekend finally arrived I met Sandra in Sydney! She came back for Christmas and NYE so I showed her the city.
Sandra and me making Opera house and Harbour Bridge even more fabulous!
Next day Matti, Luke, Felix and me had a Lord of the Rings marathon...good use of a cloudy day!
Then here we gooooo! Christmas Eve!!! And that means? Cinema! So that afternoon we went to Bondi and watched Anchorman 2 and that movie is so amazing! The funniest movie I recently watched and much better than.the first one. A very christmasy Christmas...not! It just felt like a normal day. The weather wasn't even good so it was just cloudy and about 20°.
Merry Christmas!
Then came Christmas Day and guess what? It was raining the whole damn day but that didn't stop us doing what we planned to do: go to the festival Sunburnt at Bondi Beach!
To prepare ourselves for the rain we started drinking earlier that day before lunch. We had enough Goon, picked a drinking game and started. For lunch we got even free good food by the hostel and by the time we left the hostel to go the festival we already were that pissed that we almost didn't feel the rain anymore.
Wet!!!
The festival was actually amazing! The rain didn't do any harm to the atmosphere(great wet T-shirt contest) and the DJs were so good! Especially the last DJs were sick doing crowd surfing and stuff like that! A shame Ko and Felix already left earlier and missed the best part of the festival... The festival finished at 10 which was okay because we started to feel the rain and cold again and made the long way back to Kings Cross. So we finished that amazing day with some more goon and the good old pass out in the TV room.
On Boxing day was so good again! Hot and sunny... So I finally could do the Christmas at Bondi Beach which I really wanted to do! I mean what is better than spending Christmas at the world famous Bondi Beach with awesome weather?
I took my Christmas hat with me because you have to take at least one poser photo with you and a Christmas hat at Bondi Beach!
Merry Christmas from Bondi Beach!
Here we have the poster photo damn yeah!
The ocean was warm and the waves good so a perfect beach day!
On Friday I felt like doing something for my cultural improvement so I visited the Australian museum.
There was a Tyrannosaurus exhibition I wanted to see anyways so this day was as good as any other day. Cause I was the only one of the group who is interested in nerdy stuff like this I went the alone.
I finished the Tyrannosaurus exhibition which was pretty interesting first and then went through the rest of the museum.
One great part of the museum was dedicated to all the animals in Australia that actually could kill you and since there are a lot of those animals it was a great part!
Saturday was the hottest day of the last weeks so we went to make the Bondi-Coogee walk but we were so rebellious and did it the way round and started on Cogee Beach. The walk was really pretty with heaps of good lookout spots and beautiful beaches and cliffs on the way.
Coogee Beach!
Marvellous!
Yep I'm able to put my head through stone! How else got this amazing ability?
Cliff jumping next!...but not from a suicidal height like this!
B-E-A-Utiful!
After finishing the walk I had to hurry because I was invited to a dinner by Juliane and was already late and had to travel almost 3 hrs to get to her.
It felt so good to meet someone from home again and the food she made was very good! Big compliment to you!
There were also some other friends of her so I got to know more Australians (which happens so rarely here as a backpacker exteriorly the work).
On Monday (30.12.'13) we went to the Blue Mountains! After only 2.5hrs of journey we finally arrived in Katoomba.
From there we walked the rest to Echo Point where our walk was ment to start.
From there we already had an amazing view on the three sisters, thought they were smaller and less impressive than expected...
Our walk took almost 6hrs and we went down the "mountain", crossed a valley and climbed up the next mountain. During the walk we passed some stunning waterfalls and most of the time had an awesome view over this stunning landscape. All in all the Blue Mountains are a beautiful and stunning landscape and definitively a must-see if you are in the area.
Stunning! Now I know why they are called Blue Mountains!
Fly Korbi, fly!
Fabulous!
Better don't mess with us, b**ch!
Because we can!
The famous Three Sisters...
And last but not least: Me, looking like a complete retard ;)
After a long train/bus ride of 3 hrs we arrived in the late evening back in Sydney but still had a lot of things to do!
The next day was NYE and we wanted to go to the Royal Botanic Gardens to see the fireworks.
There was no BYO(bring your own alcohol) so we had to think of a way to smuggle our Vodka inside.
We could only take sealed bottles inside the domain so we filled the Vodka into water bottles and Korbi found in the internet a way to make the bottles appear sealed.
So now you suffered enough with the day time activities and I'll start with the evenings!
The party marathon started on Friday night(20.12.'13) with us doing a small club crawl. Our entertainment manager Sam Lee led us to 3 different clubs where we each got a free drink as well.
We started with one I forgot the name of and was quite boring so not even worth to name.
The second club was Soho's which was a very good one. It wasn't that big but it was busy, the music was really good and there were a lit of pretty Australian girls so what could you want more?
At last we went to Candy's but I liked Soho's much better so I went back there. All in all a pretty good night!
On Saturday I had my debut visit at the Ivy, one of Sydney's more famous clubs.
Because it was a pool party we already went the in the afternoon and this time even Jess who usually does not goes out went with us which was quite funny since she spanked us boys all the time and told us she always acts like that if she is pretty drunk.
After a good wet party we made our way home and went to every Hungry Jack's we walked next to on our way home.
Now Sunday! As usually we started drinking on the roof top.
Opened the goon box, picked a drinking game and let the evening beginning.
That evening we went to another club in Kings Cross.
On Monday it was time for Ivy again. That evening Sandra came over to party with us and she brought Vodka and we all played Finisher. Man that stuff hits you hard if you don't drink spirits for months and I was pretty drunk but I was not the only one...The Finisher hit us all hard and the was no one of us sober by the time we made our way.
Good old selfi! Felix,me&Sandra
To get to Ivy we had to use the train and you usually need a ticket to pass the counter and get to the trains but we were so drunk and all just ran and climbed over it with a transit officer sitting in his office next to us. We just ran down to the platform and tried to hide ourselves from the officer there til the train comes and it worked out.
To leave the station you also need a ticket so we repeated the running again.
Once in Ivy some of us had some trouble to stay in the club because they were so pissed but most of us could manage to stay in the club once they got in.
This night was a really good one and even better: I did not have a hangover the next morning!
Until we pass out!
Christmas Eve...what to do? Going out of course!
That evening Sam led us to Trademark and we got entry and a drink for free. The party was okay and later on there was a wet T-shirt contest as well so not a bad evening for a very unchritmasy Christmas Eve.
Christmas Day:Sunburnt (see top)
On Boxing Day Sandra went out with us again and we went to the Tunnel Club.
A couple of times a month you can drink one hour as much as you can for 10$ but unfortunately not that evening but that wasn't bad since we were all pretty wasted after Ring of Fire and Finisher. Even the very drunk of us (Felix) got in the club that night and showed us how useless the security guys were.
The DJ there was also quite nice so it was a decent finish of the Christmas days.
On Friday we did a club crawl again but got stuck in the second club Soho's!
Here Tigerlily, a DJ who already played on Sunburnt, played again and it was so sick!
But only Matti and me stayed there long enough to see her.
I told her she was good but better played on Sunburnt...you should have seen her face!
Me and Tigerlily!
You know that you have good friends if they draw on you during a pass out!
Saturday at Juliane's we didn't stop and let the goon flow!
Now the favourite drinking games we use to play here.
5. : Never have I ever
You go in a round and one has to say what he never ever has done and the rest has to drink if they have done it.
It goes like "Never have I ever...(insert what you have/have not done)"
Pretty funny and creates a good atmosphere!
4. : Horserace
You have a deck of cards and everyone has to choose his horse to bet on: Hearts, diamonds, spites or clubs.
You have to drink your bet as an amount of zips before the game starts.
You have a card of each and open card after card from the deck and whenever you draw a card with your "horse" it can go one field forward.
For example.you draw spites. The the horse "spites" will go one field forward doesnt after if it is your horse or someone else's.
The guys who bet one the winning horse can give away three times as many zips as they bet.
3. : Driving the bus
Again you need a deck of cards and choose the bus driver.
The bus driver gives everyone the cards.
At first you have to decide if the card you get is red or black. If you guess right you can give a zip away and if you fail you have to drink.
The next round you have to guess if the value of the card is either higher, equal or lower than your first card is.
If you success you can give a zip away and if you fail you drink. If you guess equal and win everyone has to drink.
The third round you have to guess weather the value of the card you get is between the two cards you already have or outside. Same rule applies for success and fail.
In the forth round you will be asked if the card is the same value as one of the cards you have.
After that the bus driver uses the remaining cards to create a pyramids with 4 levels.
One after each other the cards of the first level will be opened and if you have that card you can place it on it and drink one zip.
On the seconds level you can give two zips away, drink three by yourself on the third level and give 4 away on the last level.
The person who has the most cards left has to play now.
The bus driver places 5 cards so that you can see the value of the cards and the person has to guess if the next card the bus driver draws will be higher or lower. The person has to succeed all five cards in a row and if he fails he has to drink and start again.
If you fail on the first card you drink one zip, two zips on the second and so on...so if you are that person you usually get pretty drunk while playing that game.
2. : Ring of Fire
Again you need a deck of cards and a cup. You now place the cards around the cup and do it that way that you cannot see the cards and that they create a unbroken chain.
Now after each other the players draw a card and different rules apply for every card. The one who breaks the "ring" has to down his drink.
Now the rules for the cards:
2: Two for you: Give two zips away.
3: Three for me: Drink three zips.
4: Four for whores: All girls drink.
5: Thumb master: During the game you can place your thumb at the edge of the table and the last one who does that too has to drink.
6: Six for dicks: All boys drink.
7: Seven for heaven: Raise your hand in the air. The last one who does so has to drink.
8: Eight pick a mate: Pick a mate who always has to drink if you habe to drink.
9: Nine for a rhyme: Say a word and the others have to find a rhyming word for it. The one who fails has to drink.
10: Categories: Pick a category and everyone has to say things that fit into the category. The one who fails drinks.
Jack: Rule
Queen: Question master: Whenever you ask someone a question and that person answers he has to drink.
King: Put something of your drink into the empty cup in the middle. The person who draws the last king has to down the cup.
Ace: Waterfall: The person who drawer starts drinking and everyone has to drink until the person stops and then the next can stop and then the next and so on.
1. :Finisher
Created here by us:
You need a bag of goon and a coin. Split the players into two teams and one team has to choose heads and the other takes tails.
Now you have to flip the coin on the goon bag and it has to stay there. If the coin shwoes the site the other team chose they have to drink and you can flip again. If it shows your site or does not land on the bag your team has to drink and the other team can flip.
The first time your site is shown you have to drink one zip, the second time in a row you drink two more, then three and the fourth time you have to down your drink.
The fifth time the other team can make a rule.
Six: Death: Someone of your team has to do a challenge.
Seventh time:Team death: Your whole team has to do a challenge.
The eighth time your side is shown you have to down your cup again and we didn't made it 9 times in a row yet so we will get a rule for it then.
Getting wasted quickly is guaranteed so play it if you don't have a lot of time.
New Year's Eve
So the next morning we had to get up early and left the hostel at 7:40am to go to the Botanic Gardens.
There was already a huge crowd of thousands of people waiting to get in and only limited space. The door opened at 10am and when it started to move we just cut the line and skipped around 2000 persons.
We still had to wait more than an hour but when we got in we found an awesome spot and got our stuff there. Now we still had more than 12hrs to wait so we played poker and shithead and just slept till we started drinking in the late afternoon.
Then it was time to get the "water" out and mix it with some energy and Solo.
At 9 and 10:30pm there already were some fireworks but nothing compared to the New Year's firework at midnight.
That firework was by far the best I've ever seen and really amazing.
Happy New Year!
Only Matti was not able to enjoy the fireworks...he was puking all the time and did not notice anything...bad bad alcohol!
After the fireworks and bringing Matti home we went to Darling Harbour to the Home club to have the perfect New Year's Night. The club was awesome again, now fully open with pretty good DJs. Here we celebrated the new year until the club closed at 6 and got back home in time for the free breakfast.
Now it's New Year's Day and I will just spend my day with watching movies with friends in the TV room before we go out tonight.
I hope you enjoyed reading! Cheers!
More pictures will follow soon!
